Personal Garden Coaching
I come to your garden, in-person or virtually, with specific advice based on your goals. My specialty is growing year-round food in the Pacific Northwest--including dairy goats and other small livestock. I love the science, art, and practicality of growing food. I bet you do too, so let's talk.

Winter Gardening
Who would you be if you harvested a fresh salad every day?

This 4-week online course in June covers soil prep, which crops are best for you to plant through the rest of the season, and how to enjoy them. Live Zoom calls give you a step-by-step plan. Optional farm tour July 1 to see (and taste!) how we grow year-round food at Hawthorn Farm.

Class fee includes soil analysis from your Logan Labs soil test results, so you know exactly how much of what to add. This is a game changer for growing nutrient-dense food.
Hands-on Homestead Food Prep
There's growing the bounty, then there's what to do with it. Learn how to ferment vegetables (we make 50+ gallons of sauerkraut a year) and how to process chickens and rabbits. Our seasonal classes reflect timeless wisdom and the cycles of nature.

These skills are your key to connected, self-reliant living. When you practice these skills, our whole community is more resilient.
Home Fermenting & Sauerkraut
Preserve home-grown harvests with fermenting. Receive freshly harvested Hawthorn Farm vegetables to make your own take-home ferment from start to finish. Taste our previously made seasonal ferments.
