Stay the night in our beloved forest
Time in a forest has proven immune-boosting benefits. The creek sings to you as you relax. Our Storytelling Yurt is a place for stories round the campfire, even on a rainy day, and wide sleeping benches mean you don't have to take down a wet tent!
Stroll the trails through our four acres of woods
We love seeing kids come here for their first camping experience, or campers who come year after year for a seasonal visit. For program families, camping here provides valuable connection to the land in between scheduled classes.
Better than a State Park
Hawthorn Farm was such a sweet escape from the city, and more private than any campsite I've visited in a long time (even backcountry campsites seem to get packed with people on weekends.) Alexia was a really generous host and let us interact with some of the farm animals and the property. The campsite was clean, cleared, and felt like a real forest escape. All that, and you can get coffee six minutes down the road. We brought a takeout pizza for dinner.

Say hello to our goats, chickens, and rabbits
Our farm animals are available for visits--the chickens love your leftover oatmeal! The animals (and free-range raspberries, in season) make our campsite popular with everyone.
Discover serene views on nearby state trails
Our farm is a good jumping-off point for hikes farther east and north, extending your "wild time" without being too far from comforts like a hot shower.

Wonderful adventure!
We stayed here for our annual girls weekend (my 5 year old daughter, mother in law, and me) and we had a blast! We loved getting to visit all the animals, walk the farm and woods, and my daughter even got to ride the pony around! We were the only reservation that weekend and also had the whole woods to ourselves. We will definitely be back again as a family.
